These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, services and software products of Coastal Tech Solutions ("Coastal Tech Solutions", "we", "us" or "our"). By accessing our website, requesting a service, or subscribing to any of our products, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

1. Who we are
Coastal Tech Solutions is a technology company based in Durban, South Africa. We provide IT and web services, developer mentorship, and we design and operate our own software products, including Syncra and Zenti.

2. Services & products we provide
Our offerings include, but are not limited to:
- Computer & IT services — setup, repairs, malware removal, optimisation and technical support.
- Website services — business websites, online stores, redesigns and maintenance.
- Developer mentorship — one-on-one coding lessons, project guidance and portfolio support.
- Software products — subscription-based access to our applications, such as Syncra and Zenti.
The specific scope, deliverables and price of any service will be set out in a quote, proposal or product plan agreed between you and us before work begins or a subscription starts.
3. Quotes, pricing & payment
All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and, where applicable, are inclusive or exclusive of VAT as stated on the quote or invoice.
- Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote, or 30 days where no period is specified.
- For project-based work, we may require a deposit before work begins, with the balance due on completion or per the milestones agreed in your quote.
- Online payments are processed securely through PayFast, our third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card or banking details on our systems.
- Invoices are payable by the due date shown on the invoice. We reserve the right to suspend services or access where payment is overdue.
4. Subscriptions & billing
Our software products are offered on a subscription basis:
- Where a free trial is offered (for example, Syncra's 30-day free trial), no charge applies during the trial period, and you may cancel at any time before it ends without being billed.
- Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected) until cancelled.
- By starting a paid subscription you authorise us, through our payment provider, to charge the applicable fee to your chosen payment method on each renewal date.
- You may cancel a subscription at any time, effective at the end of your current billing period. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
- We will give reasonable notice of any change to subscription pricing before it takes effect.
5. Your responsibilities
When using our website, services or products, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when requesting services or creating an account.
- Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with unauthorised persons.
- Use our services and products lawfully and not for any fraudulent, harmful or illegal purpose.
- Not attempt to copy, reverse-engineer, resell or interfere with our software or infrastructure.
- Ensure you have the necessary rights to any data or content you upload to our products.
6. Intellectual property
All intellectual property in our website, branding, software products (including Syncra and Zenti) and related materials remains the property of Coastal Tech Solutions or its licensors. A subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the product for the duration of your subscription — it does not transfer ownership.
Where we build a custom website or software for you, ownership of the agreed final deliverables transfers to you on full payment, unless your agreement states otherwise. Any third-party components remain subject to their own licences.
7. Service availability
We work to keep our products and services available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Access may occasionally be limited by maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control (such as network or hosting outages). We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of planned maintenance that may affect you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Coastal Tech Solutions will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or business interruption arising from your use of our website, services or products. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
Where we are found liable, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the relevant service or subscription in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Privacy & data protection
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy. In short, we collect only the information needed to provide our services, process payments, and communicate with you. We do not sell your personal information. Payment information is handled by our payment provider, PayFast, under their own security and compliance standards.

10. Refunds & cancellations
Refunds and cancellations are governed by our separate Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Please read it carefully before making a payment or starting a subscription.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology or legal requirements. The latest version will always be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our website, services or products after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
